I live in Discovery Bay ！
When it gets hot, the thermometer sometimes reads 140, but since that’s in Fahrenheit, I don’t think it’s as hot as it is in Japan.
Also, it occasionally breaks down.

Everyone, have you ever heard of a restaurant called “Kyushu Ramen”?

I think only people who lived here in the Valley\ (San Fernando Valley), but back then, the only Japanese restaurant in the Valley was “Benihana,” famous for its teppanyaki. That restaurant catered primarily to long-time American residents, mostly white people.

I was initially sent to this Valley as an expatriate employee of a Japanese company, and but the Japanese restaurants back then were filled almost exclusively with white and Latino customers. The menus focused on tempura ・, teriyaki ・, and sushi, and to me, the taste was so bad I’d think, “What is this?”—it was simply inedible.

So whenever I wanted to eat authentic Japanese food, I had to drive down the freeway all the way to Little Tokyo downtown.

A few years later, “Kyushu Ramen,” the first ramen shop in the Valley run by Japanese people, opened. Well, the taste wasn’t quite what I’d expected, but since there were no other ramen shops that “really” served ramen, I went there about once a week.

Also around that time, there was a Japanese celebrity’s U.S. office （—just a single-family home ）—in this valley, and it seems that celebrities who were frequently seen on Japanese TV at the time would often come by. Then, one time while I was slurping ramen at the aforementioned “Kyushu Ramen,” Namie Amuro—who was popular at the time—walked in with her local agent and sat down at the table next to mine, with her back to me. Well, I’m not a fan of hers or anything; I just wanted to mention that it happened.

I can log in through the Yahoo website and check my email there, but it doesn't seem to sync with the Mail app on my iPhone ？—the one that comes pre-installed on the iPhone. I'm thinking ？ that there might be some restrictions because I live overseas.
I’m busy today, so I’m thinking of stopping by the Apple Store tomorrow, but since it’s a Japanese Yahoo Mail account, I’m worried they might not be able to resolve the issue.

As Ko-ji-san mentioned, I tried disabling access from overseas yesterday, but it didn't work.
Today, I received helpful advice at the Apple Store, and we tried all sorts of solutions, but we couldn’t resolve the issue. For now, they set up a bookmark for Yahoo! Japan Mail, and I’ve been opening it from there. Although I’ve saved my password and other information on my smartphone, I have to go through text verification every time I open it, which is a hassle.
The Apple representative told me to try opening it again from the iPhone Mail app after a while—they said there’s a chance it might start working for some reason, but they couldn’t say for sure. They mentioned that this kind of thing happens from time to time.
I imagine there are many people living overseas who use the Yahoo! Japan Mail service—has anyone else been affected by this?

I’ve been bored lately, so I’ve been answering calls from strangers on my cell phone, but there are so many scams.

Someone claiming to be from Citi Bank asked if I had authorized some suspicious account activity. I checked my credit card statement on my computer and saw nothing unusual, so I hung up.

I received a call from US Bank $ asking if I’d bought a firearm for 9,000, and I told them to “go to hell.” When I looked up the phone number, it was listed as US Bank, but it was also listed as a number used by scammers. There was even a fake US Bank website linked to this scam number.

I also got a call from Bank of America about suspicious activity, but I happened to have my son take the call, and he yelled, “What do you want? Get to the point—what do you want?”

Here’s a follow-up.
Immediately after realizing I’d been scammed, I called CITIBANK to explain the situation, and the $420 that had been fraudulently taken via Zelle was placed under dispute.
After that, I opened a new account, and since my new ATM/debit card arrived today, I activated it right away. When I checked my account activity online, I saw that the $420 had been refunded. ！ I was a little moved. I’m really impressed by CITIBANK’s prompt response.

If a call comes from a number I don’t recognize, I “absolutely” never answer it.

Friends I already know ・ acquaintances, or financial institutions ・ or business contacts—are already saved in my phone. When they call, their specific names appear on the screen, so if a call comes in without that name displayed, I absolutely never press the answer button.

If the display shows only a phone number, I completely ignore it and leave it alone until the ring stops.

Since scammers make calls automatically using computers, it seems that if there’s no answer after a few attempts, the system automatically deletes the number.

Maybe it’s because she has a disability or something? ？ A friend of mine was told she couldn’t bring her stroller in, so she had to go all the way back to the parking lot. She said the kids were either carried or had to walk, which left them completely exhausted—it was the worst day ever. When someone else pointed out that the sign said “No strollers,” she got really upset and said, “Everyone else is bringing theirs—why am I the only one who wasn’t allowed?”

you’ve run into someone who’s incredibly irresponsible.
If you can’t take responsibility until the very end, you shouldn’t have started in the first place, but first of all, feeding stray cats in public places without permission is illegal.
You could be fined, so you should stop doing that.
Feeding cats that haven’t been spayed or neutered contributes to the stray cat population, which is likely why that law was enacted.
A while back, a cat-loving neighbor of mine started feeding them, but it led to a vicious cycle where kittens kept having kittens, and the stray cat population exploded. After receiving complaints from other neighbors, they had a hard time catching them all and eventually took them to the Humane Society.
So, I think it’s fine to just say, “I’m sorry, but I don’t want to break the law,” to that irresponsible friend.
I think the cats will eventually move to areas where animal welfare organizations have obtained permits to feed them.
