Three days ago, on May 21, I "returned" to LAX because I am a US citizen. I usually fly ANA, but this was my first time to fly Zip Air. I think it was $ 510 for a round trip (same as other airlines, but I forgot the exact price due to my late age).

As for seat comfort, I think it was slightly narrower than JAL/ANA. I was born a full year before the end of the war and have a long torso and short legs, but when I try to sit comfortably, my knees just touch the back of the front seat.

Also, there is no monitor screen in the front, that is, on this side of the backrest of the front seat. If you want to watch movies, you have to bring your own Laptop or IPad. My wife was watching a recorded drama on the IPad, while I was listening to music with the earphones she lent me. The earphones are tiny ones that go in your ears.

As an overall evaluation, I have the impression that it is not "cheap or bad" but "cheap so this is what you get". I recommend it to those who want to keep the round-trip fee low.

Most of this trip to Japan was also spent in Tokyo.

We went to Kaminarimon-dori in Asakusa to buy sweatshirts with hiragana characters on them as souvenirs, especially for Segare and Totsan, both of whom are of Totsan age.

However, it was the day of the annual Sanja Festival in Asakusa. So, the Nakamise street was so crowded that foreign tourists and others could not walk there properly.

It was also lunch time and all the diners and restaurants were full. Finally, I found a small restaurant and peeked in, only to find that a couple of oriental tourists had just finished eating and were leaving, so I was lucky to get in.

I wonder what was on the menu. I'm too late in life to remember. I have a vague memory of eating cold tokoroten as well. Even that simple thing was served with nostalgia.

I remember eating kanten and tokoroten.

Whether by foot, bicycle, car, or any other means of transportation, a pilgrimage to any of the 88 sacred sites in Shikoku is called an "ohenro" (pilgrimage).

Since 2009, every time I travel to Japan for a week ～ I visit Shikoku for about 10 days and walk around the 88 sacred sites on my own. I have been visiting Shikoku in parts, which is called "kiri-uchi", and visiting all 88 sacred sites in one trip, which is called "tsumi-uchi". Over the past 10 years, the number of "foreign" pilgrims from Japan has increased considerably. The walking pilgrimage in Shikoku is probably the best way to immerse oneself in "Japan" itself. Quite a few foreign pilgrims seem to have experienced the "Camino de Compostera San Tiago" （ in Spain, ） I think this is correct.

But now that I am 82 years old, I am starting to show some signs of old age, and my wife has told me to stop going on the Shikoku walking pilgrimage alone. I thought there were a few Iolani who went to MIT every year.
I thought there were a few people going to MIT every year in Iolani. UC schools like UCLA and UC Berkeley are not as common as in Punahou, but UC San Diego, Davis and Irvine are more common.
My son is studying for the middle school entrance exam, and Tutor told me that the SSAT passing line for middle school is also 10% higher than Punahou.

There are 12796 students at UH. That's about 3200 students/year.
There are about 50 people in total who go to UH from Punahou and Iolani.
Mid-pack and others combined would not be 100 people.
In other words, an estimated 3,100 are enrolled from Public.
I think there is an option to go to UH while getting top grades at Public instead of choosing Punahou or Iolani from the start.
This would save about $400,000 over 12 years.
