However, it is difficult to draw a line between how much is "just drinking too much" and how much is alcoholism requiring treatment.

① Uncontrollable

To put it simply, alcoholism is a condition in which a person cannot control his/her drinking.

Suppose you asked your husband （ wife ） who drinks too much to give you a day off a week, or to allow you to drink but only one drink.

Then the husband （ and wife ） may want to do so and say, "Okay," but they end up drinking every day or drinking until they are drunk even if they only have one drink.

② There are many episodes of drinking failure
