Second generation Japanese American born in Argentina, After graduating from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, he moved to Japan. After several years in Japan, he came to the U.S. and trained at UCLA and USC, gaining about 30 years of experience as a psychiatrist before opening Americas TMS Center in 2009.

Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) School of Medicine and is affiliated with CHOC (Children's Hospital of Orange County), where he is able to provide services based on accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment plan in English Japanese ・ Spanish, and treats patients of all ages, from adults to children.

Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and the American Board of Pediatric Psychiatry and Neurology, we provide new mental health care and treatment for a variety of psychiatric disorders using *TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) therapy ） in addition to conventional drug treatment. We are providing new mental care and treatment for a variety of neuropsychiatric disorders using TMS therapy.

What is 🧠 TMS treatment ？
TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation Therapy)} is a therapy that activates nerve cells in the brain by using magnetism to repeatedly stimulate areas of the brain that control emotion.

In the United States, this therapy was introduced about 14 years ago, mainly for symptoms of depression, and is now also used to treat autism and OCD.

It is approved by the FDA and the MHLW as a safe treatment for depression and OCD.
Since no drugs are used as in the past, there is little burden on the body and no downtime, so even busy people can continue treatment without any disruption to their daily lives.

TMS is the best treatment for those who are not good at drug therapy and want to avoid it, those who experience strong side effects from drugs, and those who have had inadequate results with conventional drug therapy.　


🍃 What is depression ？ 🍃

Depression is a condition in which the brain cannot function normally due to mental or physical stress for various reasons.
In depression, the way you look at things and think becomes negative. In addition to mental symptoms such as feeling depressed all day long and not being able to enjoy anything you do, physical symptoms such as difficulty sleeping, loss of appetite, and fatigue may also be a sign of depression.

Recent research on the brain and neuropsychiatric function has revealed that depression is not a "mental illness" but a "brain disorder.

In particular, it has been shown that a reduction in the function of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex （ in the front part of the brain, the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex or ） is a major contributor to depressive symptoms and depression.

Till now, the treatment for depression has mainly been to suppress symptoms with medication, but TMS is a treatment that activates the nerve cells of the brain itself and improves their function, and has been approved by various institutions for its safety.
