Autumn Castle Town Marathon to have a new course to run by Fukuchiyama Castle ！ Fees also reduced ！ Fukuchiyama Marathon to be held on Nov. 23 (Sat. ・ Celebration of the 23rd of November) ！

The Fukuchiyama Marathon Executive Committee, consisting of Fukuchiyama City, Kyoto Prefecture and other organizations, will hold the "32nd Fukuchiyama Marathon" on November 23, 2024 （ Saturday ・ Celebration ）.


"Fukuchiyama Marathon" has a long history since 1991 and is the largest sporting event in Fukuchiyama City. It has been selected as one of the "100 best running events in Japan" based on runners' comments.

In order to increase the number of participants, this year's event will make a fresh start by incorporating the suggestions of the expert panel, changing to a new course that allows runners to run near the castle, establishing new shorter distance events, lowering the entry fee, and extending the time limit. Entries are now being accepted for the Fukuchiyama citizen quota, and regular entries and the hometown tax quota will be accepted on June 15.

In addition, various other events will be held to liven up this marathon, including a "Marathon Beginner Challenge Lecture" by former Olympian Yurika Nakamura and others to help runners complete the Fukuchiyama Marathon.

[Fukuchiyama Marathon beginner challenge course]

We will hold running courses to promote participation in the Fukuchiyama Marathon by beginner citizen runners in order to help them finish the marathon. In addition, Yurika Nakamura, Fukuchiyama City Active City Promotion Advisor, will be a guest lecturer in a special （ Easy Start Running Course ）.

Volunteer staff are needed to support the event. This is a sporting event in which not only runners from all over Japan, but also volunteers who support the event management and those who cheer along the roadsides will play a leading role. We would appreciate your cooperation in welcoming runners with warm hospitality.

In the 31st Fukuchiyama Marathon, the "Emon Station" was set up as a special aid station to entertain runners and was well received. For the 32nd Fukuchiyama Marathon, the special aid stations will be further expanded to include Fukuchiyama products and other unique aid stations. We are looking for offerings to entertain runners.

In addition to a set menu based on the amount of sponsorship, individual menus will be created, such as company names on athlete bibs and stents at the venue on the day
