NIPPON FOOD SHIFT FES. Tokyo 2024

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) has launched a national campaign "Think Japan from Food. Nippon Food Shift" is being developed.
In addition, the months of October and November have been designated as "Think Japan from Food. Month" and will strengthen information dissemination.
As one of our efforts, we will hold "NIPPON FOOD SHIFT FES. Tokyo 2024" on October 19 (Saturday) ・ 20 (Sunday) to connect agriculture, forestry, fishery and food businesses with consumers and discuss issues and circumstances surrounding "food" and "agriculture" in Japan together. Marunouchi area in Tokyo (Marunouchi Building 1st floor Marucube, Marunouchi Nakadori Ave.






Purpose of the event

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) will create opportunities to meet and dialogue with producers and businesses in order to encourage consumers to consider issues surrounding food and agriculture in Japan as something close to home. The Ministry has been creating opportunities to promote new awareness and discoveries about food, and to change attitudes and actions.
This year, "NIPPON FOOD SHIFT FES. Tokyo 2024" will be held in the Tokyo Marunouchi area (Marucube on the 1st floor of Marunouchi Building and Marunouchi Nakadori Avenue) to provide an opportunity to think together about the challenges facing Japanese food and agriculture and the future they aim for.
Through this event, we plan to introduce the initiatives of companies and agricultural sites that support the food system, hold workshops to deepen understanding of food and agriculture mainly among the youth of Generation Z, hold a marché to fully convey the appeal of domestic products, and sell products in a kitchen car.

Main Events

(1)Main Stage Program(Marucube)
・ Opening Ceremony with the National Central Association of Agricultural Cooperatives and Mitsubishi Estate Co.
・ Opening talk session introducing Nippon Food Shift's activities in public-private partnership with promoting partners, such as the collaboration with House Foods Co.
・ Introduction of collaborations between food businesses and Generation Z youth, and discussion by students studying agriculture and design to solve food-related issues
・ "From rice balls, Nippon Food Shift."
Various talk sessions will be held, including the introduction of Marunouchi Nakadori Avenue stalls and the recording of a TV program.

(2)}Exhibition (MARCUBE)
・ "Hyakusei nobility", a farmer essay comic by Hiroshi Arakawa, who worked on his family's dairy farm in Hokkaido ・ before he became a manga artist (published by Shinshokan Co., Ltd. ・ published bi-monthly by "WINGS Wings" bimonthly). The exhibition will feature original reproductions of the memorable first episode and the 100th episode of the series.





・ With the catchphrase "Rice is power ！," the game combines the exhilarating combo action of fighting demons that rule the island on Hinoe Island with simulation elements that deeply reproduce ancient Japanese rice farming. The unique Japanese-style action RPG game "Tenho no Sakuna Hime", which combines exhilarating combo action against demons who rule the island and simulation elements that deeply reproduce ancient Japanese rice cultivation, will be adapted into an anime in 2024. Along with the anime cut, "Rice Knowledge" related to rice in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries will be exhibited.





(3)Marche and Kitchen Car (Marunouchi Nakadori Ave.)
A marche with fresh ingredients and kitchen cars that bring out the best of those ingredients. Please enjoy the contact with producers and businesses that are looking to the future of food and putting it into action every day.

Introduction of the activities of the partners promoting (4)(4)}
We will also introduce the activities of our promotion partners such as Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation, Amekaze Taiyo Corporation, All Japan Federation of Pickling Cooperatives, and General Inc. Ecological bags utilizing Soalon ™, the only material produced in the world by Mitsubishi Chemical Corporation using natural trees as the main raw material, will be distributed to the first 100 visitors (first 50 visitors/day) who participate in Nippon Food Shift activities on the day of the event. Please try the world-class rich colorability and natural texture of the characteristic feel.
