I have been trying for 50 years to go see the Mojave Air&Space Port Air ・ Races.

I also went near Edwards AFB the year Halley's Comet came close enough to the earth to see it with the naked eye, but unfortunately I could only see it to the extent that I could tell if that was it. The wind is always blowing there, so any comets that I could see low down near the horizon were drowned out by the sandstorm.
