I'm sure you already did, but look at that area first. If you see sparks on the back of the computer where the power cord is plugged in, the cord side and the PC power supply side should be charred black. Is the blade of the 3-contact plug on the power supply side charred and slightly melted? If so, it is probably due to a short circuit on the primary side inside the power supply (110V side). If so, the only way is to replace the power supply unit. If the Warranty is still valid, it will be repaired or replaced free of charge.

In the meantime, try wiping the burnt residue off the side of the unit with cutip and alcohol, then get another new power cord, connect it, and turn it on. If it sparks again or doesn't turn on at all, give up completely.

However, it will be very difficult to process the software and data you were using until then. You can ask a repair shop to do it, but the repair shop that understands Japanese and can handle Japanese data will （ be under your feet ） and the repair cost will be very high.

Type in your PC model name and power supply on eBay ＆ and you will find most of the parts. The price is only a few tens of dollars, and even an amateur can easily replace it. Just take a picture of the power supply before you remove it and connect the new one the same way. If it still doesn't work, I would probably replace it.

#11&12, thank you kindly. I cannot find the scorch at all. It is still not on. My PC is using a 400W power supply. I was researching yesterday and found that if it suddenly turns off and won't turn on, I should suspect the power cord. I think I will first buy a power cord, and if that doesn't work, I will buy a power supply. If that doesn't work, I will replace the motherboard.

Hard disk access light doesn't light up either ？
I guess it is a failure of the power supply unit.
In that case, the most common suspect is the aging deterioration of electrolytic capacitors （ electrolytic capacitors ）.
But since it is only a little over a year old, other causes may be more likely.
Have you checked the fuse （ fuse/fuze ） ？
maybe it is just a blown fuse due to temporary excessive current … I hope so.

The power cord is too simple to spark and cause contact failure, but if I had to guess, I would say the connector on the computer side power supply. Therefore, file the contact blades on the AC connector on the power supply side.

If that doesn't fix it, then the power supply unit itself is at fault and should be replaced. You may want to follow #12's recommendation.

I'm not sure of the details.

I try to shop at Amazon and out-of-state electronics stores
because they charge me tax, so I just assume it doesn't matter where I buy
and shop at walmart
where they accept returns in store if I don't like it.

Yesterday I tested the power supply and the fan did not start at all. Therefore, I ordered a power supply. I had been using a 400W and upgraded to a 600W. Was it the power supply itself, as someone else mentioned? It must be a high power transistor or a high power IC including it that has blown up.

If you have a desktop from a well-known manufacturer, the power supply is not a standard size, so you have to buy a genuine one from the manufacturer. For standard size, I have a 600W one. When I bought this power supply from Fry's, the price was higher than others and the fan was more powerful, but it made almost no noise and the speed automatically increased when the temperature of the circuit increased. I really felt that technology has advanced.

I have been buying electronics and computer parts from Frys for over 20 years now. Until about two years ago, I paid a small fee for delivery. I buy almost all parts for my current homebrewing machine at Frys. I buy my upgrades RAM and SSD from Amazon. I went to Frys about 6 months ago and the place was a mess.
