6/13 The University of Tokyo Institute for Advanced Study ・ UTokyoNY Event -The Path to De-carbonization in 2050

The University of Tokyo's Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) has established the Institute for Energy and International Security （ Division of Global Security and Energy Transition (GSET) ） as an affiliated facility to strongly promote advanced research contributing to the realization of carbon neutrality through the integration of energy and geopolitics. GSET aims to find the best path toward carbon neutrality by 2050, which is now a global commitment, from an academic ・ neutral standpoint.
As momentum for decarbonization grows in both the U.S. and Japan, we will collaborate with UTokyoNY to hold a public workshop to provide an opportunity for energy ・ geopolitical researchers, Japanese companies ・ organizations, and other diverse stakeholders in the U.S. to learn about and discuss the Institute's new activities. We will hold a workshop "Decarbonization Pathway Towards 2050" in cooperation with UTokyoNY as an opportunity for various stakeholders to learn about the new activities of the Institute and to think together. We look forward to your participation.

In addition to the keynote address, this year's event will feature a senior fellow from the Center for Strategic and International Studies （ CSIS ）, a leading US think tank Jane Nakano, Senior Fellow, Energy Security and Climate Change Program, CSIS , and Mika Takagi, Director, Washington Office, New Energy ・ Industrial Technology Development Organization of Japan （ NEDO ）, will join the panel discussion on the current status and future issues for "Decarbonization in 2050".
