Vivinavi Los Angeleswalmart.comでデビットカードの決済ができない

walmart.comで買いたいもの（$1000弱の商品）があり注文手続きを進めましたが、私の持っているVISAデビットカード（アメリカの銀行で発行されたもの）を使って決済しようと思ったところ、このカードでは支払できないから違うカードの情報を入れ直すように、という表示が出てしまい、商品の購入ができませんでした。
（日本で作ったクレジットカードもはねられてしまい利用できませんでした）
アメリカで作ったカードは上述の1枚しか持っていません。
銀行口座の残高は問題ありません。
どのような理由からでしょうか?
ネットで検索してみたり、ヘルプページを見てみましたが分かりませんでした。

それって、デビットカード使用の上限額より高い買い物なんじゃないですかね?

多分、上限＄３００−５００と思われ！
店に行って、現金でどうぞ。

デビットカードにATM引出し限度額はあっても使用限度額なんてないと思うけど。
以前$1,400程度の買い物をオンラインでしたけど、そんな事無かったし、逆にある方がおかしい気がする。
ステータス上クレジットカードを作りたくても作れない人や作っても限度額が低くて、オンラインで高い品物の購入にデビットカード使おうと思ったら買えないなんてトラブル続出する方がおかしい。

私の記憶が確かなら、デビットじゃなくて、セキュアと勘違いだったのかな???
