今週末の三連休にBig Bear Mountainに行く予定にしています。
聞くところによると途中の山道渋滞がひどいそうですね。朝5時半にはLAを出た方が良いとか、9時に出たら17時に到着した などという話も聞きましたが、実際のところはどうなのでしょうか?なにぶん、初めて行くので見当もつきません。
実際に行かれた方のご経験談やアドバイスをお伺いできたらなと思います。

自分は若干遠回りでも38を使って行きます。
ワインディングが少ないし、渋滞がなく、運転が楽ですよ。
特に帰りは絶対に38をお勧めします。
時間ですがチェーン規制が入らなければ約2時間、チェーン規制が入ると取り付け時間も含め4時間ぐらいかかってしまいます。（のろのろ運転にもなるし）

ここにHWYの番号を入れるところがありますので、自分の通る道の数字を入れ、交通規制を確認すると良いと思いますよ。
9時に出て17時は無いと思うけど。
そんなにかかるならマンモスの方が早くつくよ。
あ、あと、チェーンは忘れずに！
もし初めて装着する場合は自宅で装着の練習することをお勧めします。

もし、チェーンの装着に自信がなければビッグベアーに上る途中で有料で付けてもらえます。
確か３０ドルでした。けっこうみんな付けてもらってましたよ。
私も最初は自分でしようと思ったんですが寒いのと手がかじかんで思うようにできなくて結局頼みました。
とりあえずチェーンは忘れずに持っていきましょう。
忘れたら買いに行くか、帰るかです。
山道の渋滞はひどいです。
私の場合は前の日の夜に出てビックベアーの下あたりで一泊して次の日の朝７時か８時ぐらいに出ると一時間ぐらいでスキー場につきます。渋滞なしです。
ホテルは一泊１００ドル程でした。

残念ながら今回は前泊はできないですが、38号を使って、必要ならばチェーンの装着もお願いして、できるだけスムースに行けることができたらと思っています。
