You are very filial. It has been 50 years since I was in the U.S. and I have done nothing to take care of my parents. My mother is 95 years old, but she is still in good health and lives at home. We go back to Japan once a year to see if each other is still alive. ^^;

Information on the 88 temples of Shikoku can be found below. As for what to do as a pilgrim at each temple, the Buddha is very generous, and simply throwing money and joining hands is perfectly acceptable. I do all the chanting in the main hall and the Daishi Hall, which is all that a pilgrim should do. It takes at least 30 minutes per temple, starting with bowing at the temple gate and purifying oneself at the hand-watering place.

Can I get bonus miles if I REFER between family members ？
Also, if I cancel within one year of no annual fee, can I transfer the miles I earned during that time to my family members' cards ？

I am not familiar with the Delta AMEX Gold Card. The Delta promotion says "when you refer Friends and Colleagues" and there was no mention of Family Member, so I have a feeling that it may not be possible between family members, but it is possible since the US allows family members to open independent bank and credit card accounts. But it is possible because US can open independent bank and credit card accounts even between family members.

When I opened that card, of course I did it online, but I don't remember if there were any questions or explanations involving family members. Since that application is also done online, you might want to actually go through that Refer process. If it doesn't work, you will probably get an explanation that it doesn't work, and if it doesn't, that means it's OK.

However, if you refer a family member, you will have to create another Amex account （ card number ） for the family and you will have to pay two annual fees later on. Please take this into consideration.
