I took the Kinder exam this year, Iolani was my first choice, but only Punahou was accepted. Iolani was still difficult. Iolani attracts high IQ children from all over the world, so even if they enter from middle school, their grades are not as high as those of children who entered from kinder. I must confess that I was not a high IQ kid from all over the world at all.
I'm sure that Iolani's high IQ theory is just information you hear about in rumors, but
I attended the acceptance events for both Iolani and Punahou and was astonished.
The Iolani I saw at the passing event was 80% legacy, maybe more than 80%. There were 96 people who passed, the pass event was 2 hours long, and round tables were set up so we could see all the families. Over 80% were alumni and it was like a reunion with over half the tables filled from the front with just high fives and alumni families.
I didn't prepair anything, so I'm lucky to have been accepted ！ I'm glad to be at Alumini ！ The conversations were going on and on.
All the parents of the graduates wore Iolani polo shirts, and the family members who brought their siblings also wore Iolani T-shirts because they all attend Iolani. I was born and raised in Japan and my husband is from Europe. We don't have any connections or acquaintances, and we are sitting at a table in the back of the room.
We were at a table with a similar family, who even said that they couldn't fit in and had just decided on Punahou.
To be honest, we also found that most of the legacies at the acceptance event, maybe because of the connections, the attitude of the kids was so "is this how you pass Iolani?"
We saw kids moving around, crying, and not listening to the adults.
I think they will be instructed by the rules, homework, and counselors when school starts.
The quality of the kids, I did not see nearly as many high IQ kids from all over the world. I was so surprised.

My husband is loco and eats everything. I buy him a plate lunch of Chinese, Filipino, Hawaiian, etc. for lunch, and he can't finish it by himself, so I have the rest for dinner. I often buy poke by weight at the local supermarket, cook white rice and eat the poke as a side dish. I do not eat those things because they do not suit my palate. Daily meals are really hard to think about. We are a family of four, including two grown children, and some days they eat at home and some days they don't. When they were small, we were very careful about what they put in their mouths. Basically, I make a batch of something that I can make a lot of at once and that will last for a long time, and keep the whole pot in the refrigerator. The Instant Pot is ready to go when I turn it on, so I often set it to cook stews, soups, porridge, miso soup, etc. before I leave the house. I often think about what my husband and I will be cooking and eating together in the future, but I think it will probably be the same kind of food. Oh, only in the morning I make a green protein smoothie made with green juice, coffee, protein powder, and cut up fruits and leafy greens thrown into a blender. Instant Pot, When I still had to pick up my children from school, I would set it up before picking them up. The blender was also a big help when I was grounded in Corona and the amount of fruits and vegetables we received in rations was too much to eat, so I bought a blender and made smoothies and vegetable juices every day. This morning my husband made banana pancakes with overripe bananas. I served it with strawberries, blueberries, pineapple, and other fruits in the fridge, and enjoyed it like fruit pancakes at a café. For breakfast, my husband prepares an American breakfast every morning. For lunch, I bought a plate lunch of Korean barbecue downtown and shared it with my husband. My husband always has macaroni salad with his plate lunch, which is a typical loco dish, but I try not to eat starch because I am pre-diabetic.
