Since Japanese clinical trials are required for approval in Japan, the drug itself is almost always approved in the U.S.
You must first pass a medical examination before you can undergo a clinical trial.
The higher the risk and side effects, the higher the reward.
You will be asked to sign a waiver before you take the trial because there is no way to be absolutely sure that there are no possible side effects.
If you get sick or scared and want to quit, you can stop on the spot … In that case, you will usually be paid for your stay.
The staff is on site 24 hours a day and will check your temperature, blood pressure, and anything else that is wrong with you several times a day, so if there is anything wrong, they will take action and may stop the trial.

Clinical trials may not sound as good as it sounds, but in Japan, clinical trials for new drugs are also conducted. But the rewards are not as good as here. It's just a feeling.

Look closely at the W-2 form.　Box a is the SS number.　You cannot put an EIN here. So, the W-2 itself is wrong.

I think you put EIN in Schedule C of tax return, but Schedule C has 1099 as income and W-2 cannot be adjusted.　

You should ask the person who issued the W-2 to correct the W-2, （ cancel ） and issue a 1099-NEC with the SS number, or report it as Other Income on Schedule C without a 1099.　 （ In that case, do not put the EIN on Schedule C ）.

I understand that you have your own account in Japan, which means that you are transferring dollars from your US account to Japan. If your Japanese account is a Yen account （ and this is normal ）, then the first step is to buy Yen at a US bank and send the Yen to Japan. However, if you have a dollar account in Japan, you can send the money in dollars, so you are not affected by the exchange rate, just the Wire Transfer fee. My US bank is Citibank, but the dollar-Yen exchange rate is very bad ＞ （ plus a few % commission ）, so I open a dollar account with a Japanese bank （ Mitsubishi UFJ ） and send the money in dollars. That way, Citibank charges only $ 35 and there is no fee on the Japanese side. When I withdraw in Yen from my dollar deposit account, I only have to pay a 0.25 yen fee, based on the TTB rate of that day. I find this method to be the most advantageous in terms of exchange fees. I have not used Wise, but from checking their site, it appears that you can exchange at a rate similar to my method.
