今度引っ越しをする事になったのですが、
その引っ越し先の設備装備の中に
High Speed Internetと記されています。これはどの様なサービスなのかご存じの方いらっしゃいますか？
今現在はSBCのDSLを使ってインターネットをしています。
引っ越し先のアパートでHigh Speed Internet なるものがあればプロバイダ契約をせずインターネットができるということなんでしょうか？
教えて下さい。 パソコンにつて疎くてこういう時本当に困っちゃいます。
よろしくお願いします。

ポート：壁の電話ジャックみたく壁からインターネット専用のジャックのこと（種類は見ないとわかりませんけど）
カード：コンピュータの後ろに繋げるModemポートかEthernetポートの意味を言おうとしたと思います。最近のはすでに組み込まれてますが、Modemなど付いてない場合は別売りのカードなどを買って入れます。(PCIスロットがあればの話ですけど）

壁のジャック（電話ジャックに見えるけど、ちょっとだけ幅が広い）からコンピュータに（今までＤＳＬモデムがつながってたところに）じかにつなげるだけです。

普通の電話ジャックは、RJ-11という規格で、普通の電話機やFAX、コンピュータのモデム端子、DSLモデム、Cableモデムなどをつなぐことが出来ます。
それよりも、一回り大きいジャックは、RJ-45という規格で、ネットワークケーブル通して、ルーターやコンピュータのネットワーク端子などに接続します。
私が以前、見に行ったアパートでも、壁にRJ-11が出ていて、家賃に高速インターネット料金が含まれていました。その場合、自前でインターネット契約をしなくても、コンピュータを繋ぐだけでインターネットが利用できると言われました。結局そのアパートには入らなかったので、それ以上のことは確認出来ませんでした。
