I see that you have been reading the topic with great enthusiasm, so I would like to make a suggestion.

The following suggestions should be considered as a "last resort" in case the call center cannot be reached.

After confirming that my last unemployment insurance payment, due April 3, was credited to my bank account, I was told, "I only recently learned on ●●2021 that my employer had placed me on Furlough （ temporary termination ） status. I have been on Permanent Layoff （ Full Termination ） status by mistake since March ●●, 2020 and I would like to change the status in my UI account. I am not sure if I should apply for Reactivate a Claim, so please contact me if you need to apply for it. We recommend that you send the letter by mail, which requires a signature so that the post office does not lose it on the way.

● Name, last four digits of social security number, address, phone number, and email address
● Copy of employer's temporary termination letter
● Employer information and contact information

There is no difference between a full termination and a temporary termination, including WBA. There is no need to worry, of course, as there is no fine. I think it would be safer to just report the correction now in case you don't expect a re-lockdown or your employer dissolves and you need unemployment insurance again later.

If you need to apply for Reactivate a Claim, you will be contacted by the UI office after you send the letter. If you don't hear from them, try calling to follow up about a month after sending the letter.

If there are no advice posts from people with experience, consider proceeding as above.

Dear sunset

It's been a while
Thank you for all your support.

The company has explained to us that they may reopen but do not know when they will be closed again,
so my hope is to just keep the account going, as Hawaii itself is still in a situation where the future is not clear right now.

I will continue to call UI as long as I have time, but in parallel, I will also try to tell UI in the way suggested by sunset.
And
should I file
last week on 3/20 and this week on 4/3 as #348?

If you work less than 40 hours per week or less than WBA, you should always file because unemployment insurance will be paid.

If your only purpose is to keep your UI account active, you should continue filing weekly even if you work more than 40 hours per week or WBA. The UI office system will display "Disqualified" immediately without waiting for a labor report from the employer, but you can keep your UI account active.

But there is a concern. The unemployment insurance help team told me that in the first half of last year there were many cases where UI accounts were automatically suspended if they were not touched for several months, but now they are not seeing any such cases at all. I certainly have not seen any such cases recently. I think that maybe the UI system has been upgraded and no longer stops automatically. But only the UI office can tell if that is true.

Back on topic, filing weekly may be a hassle, but I think it would be safer in the long run to continue filing weekly until Hawaii reopens in earnest and the employer makes a final decision that there will be no suspension or dissolution.

The company doesn't think that far ahead, and

You will be Disqualified if you are either one of these, and the reason for being Disqualified will appear in the Details section as follows.

If you received labor income in excess of your WBA:
REPORTED EARNINGS OF $ ●● IS GREATER THAN YOUR WEEKLY BENEFIT AMOUNT OF $ ●●.

WORKED MORE THAN 40 HOURS WEEKLY:
WORKED 40 HOURS OR MORE

In other words, if you worked less than 40 hours per week but more than your WBA, you are disqualified. Also, if you earn less than your WBA but work more than 40 hours per week, you will be disqualified.

I logged in this morning to file for the 3/27 deadline, and
after entering the hours worked, I was asked if I had a new job, and I answered yes, and then
I was asked to enter the name and phone number of the company. I was asked to enter the company name and phone number.
I knew for sure that it was a layoff application.
I went ahead and filed it as is
I stopped halfway through because I didn't know if I would have to
Reactivate it after tomorrow in the same vein as in #170,#171, and I haven't filed it yet.

If anyone has experienced this,
if you don't mind, could you please share the input you did at that time and the flow after that?

Just for the record.

In past topics （ last spring ）, those who made the mistake of entering the status of "fully terminated" or "temporarily terminated" on the Initial Application immediately contacted the UI Office within 3 months.

The response from the UI Office at that time was one of the following.
● Direct correction
● Reactivate a Claim application to change status

Since it is rare to change status after one year, it is possible that there is no one who would share this on this topic. Also, with the upgrade of the UI system, the advice from the call center has changed a little compared to last year.

The safest course of action is to check with the call center for the latest method.
