I returned home temporarily in the summer for my children's summer vacation. I had a negative certificate issued by St. Luke's.
We were on a Haneda flight, but once you arrive in Japan, you will be asked several times at the airport to confirm your travel documents, etc. I recommend that you keep all the necessary documents in a file case so that you can get them out quickly. There will also be an inspection for an app to check your whereabouts during your voluntary quarantine in Japan, so don't forget to download the necessary app. And since you will be forced to walk endlessly from inspection area to inspection area at the airport, it is best to keep your carry-on luggage as light as possible. We packed our carry-on luggage in carry-on cases and let the children carry them, while I prepared the necessary documents, cell phones, passports, etc. for the number of people in our party. It took about three and a half hours from the time we arrived at the airport to the time we met the family who would pick us up. You still need negative proof when you return to Hawaii, and you will be issued a Hawaii state form at a Hawaii state-designated clinic. I heard that lawn clinics in Tokyo are cheaper, but since my parents live in a rural area, I decided to go to a local Hawaii state-designated clinic since it was cheaper for me to go to Tokyo and stay at a local clinic considering the transportation and lodging costs. It was a big expense since it was 32,000 yen per person and it was for my family, but I couldn't go back last year and I am glad I took the plunge. On the way back, the airline staff we used at Haneda checked our negative certificates, and we were able to get out of the Honolulu airport easily and crisply, faster than normal, just by showing our boarding passes to the staff at the airport.

If you have a negative certificate designated by the State of Hawaii, there is no voluntary quarantine once you arrive in Hawaii, but it is recommended that you keep a copy of your negative certificate for travel at work or school for a while instead of throwing it away.

Our cat hospital, Purradise Cat Care, Inc. is our cat's hospital. It used to be a different hospital called Cat Clinic, and we have been with them since then. The owner changed and it is now Purradise Cat Care. Since the previous clinic, there was a Japanese woman working there who was very attentive （ Since the Corona Disaster, I have only received my cat in the parking lot and have not met her, so I am not sure if she is still working there today ）. I have used them both when traveling and as a pet hotel, and have been satisfied with their attentive service.

Also, I have not used King Street Pet Hospital, but a friend of mine has used them and said they have also been taken care of with no problems, so I will list them here.

My cat's teeth became wobbly and she could not close her mouth, so I took her to Purradise Cat Care as an emergency. It was a tooth extraction surgery that day and it cost me roughly ＄ 800 at full cost. But they cleaned all the teeth and clipped the nails. The cleaning would have cost close to that if they had to put me under anesthesia. The doctor and staff are very kind, and the Japanese staff was closed when I went, but they are usually there. And I am now looking for a place to leave my child while I return to Japan. I have looked on the internet, but all I can find are cages or private rooms with no windows. Ideally, I would like to find a place that is cage-free, has a view out the window, and has a permanent staff, but it seems that there are only places in Kailua and Kaneohe. If anyone knows of any good places, please let me know.
