このまえスーパーマーケットの駐車場で、私と向かい合わせで停まっていた車が、丸いライトが左右２個ずつついているタイプのよく見るメルセデスだったんです。
でも例の三ツ矢マークが見えないので、こういうデザインもあるのねと思いつつ、店の入り口に向かいがてら後ろ側に回ってみると、KIAのマークがついててビックリ。ここまでやるか、と。
たしか、ジャガーとかBMWによく似たモデルもあったような。あれはHyundaiだったか。
ミニクーパーと日産CUBEとXBを足して３で割ったようなのもよく走ってますよね。
私はけして車に詳しいわけでもないただの主婦ですが、同じくたいして車に興味もない主人にこの話をすると、彼いわく、性能の悪くない新車が手の届く値段で買えて、しかもアフターケアが良いから、デザインとか他人の目を気にしない人は買っちゃうんでは?とのこと。
他社の人気モデルと見間違えるほどよく似たデザインで発売することの是非は別として、どんな車を購入するかは、もちろん人それぞれの自由です。
なので、あくまでも興味本位の雑談として、こういう車に実際に乗っている人に聞いてみたいのですが・・・・

よく似たオリジナル（メルセデスなり何なり）と道ですれ違うとき恥ずかしくないですか?

日本車にもマルッキリ同じような時代がありましたよ。
韓国製の車が今その時代です。他人ばかり、攻められません。
「猿まね」と言う言葉がありますが、日本も外見だけでなく中身、例えば電子回路など、欧州の一部も含む米国製品をそっくり真似ることで高度成長を成し遂げました。皆さんが気軽にアメリカに来れるようになったのもその「猿まね」のお陰です。

製品の開発はまず、よく調べパクる事から始まりオリジナルを上回る。。。
上回らないと単なるパクリと言われるだけ。
ちなみにパクリの語源は、その昔よく盗みを働いた朴（パク）と李（リ）から来てますからねｗ

江戸っ子さんの意見に同感です。
車とか製品だけではなく、近代日本の文化も欧米の全くのぱくりだから。
かなり前に米系のTVで六本木か何処かの日本の若者の服装と路上芸人のことが放映されていましたが、それを見ていた米人（?）観光客が「あれらは我々（米国?）のコピー」だと言っていたなあ。
ラーメン、カレーライスその他諸々のものが該当している。
ソロソロ韓国の製品等に嫉妬しだしたようなふんいきである。
