Vivinavi Los Angelesプレキンダーとプレスクールの違い

こんにちは。
２歳の子供を持つ母親です。
こちらはキンダー（幼稚園）から義務教育とのことですが、
プレキンダーとプレスクールの違いがよくわかりません。
プレキンダーはキンダーに行く準備をする場所（期間）と認識していますが
プレスクールとは一体何をするところですか?
日本で言う保育所といったところでしょうか?
私たちは両親とも日本人でいつから子供を学校に通わすのがベストかと話していた時に
上記の疑問が生まれてきました。
こちらで子供を育てている親御さん達にアドバイスいただければと思いました。
よろしくお願いします。

＞こちらはキンダー（幼稚園）から義務教育とのことですが、
誤解している人が多いみたいですが、キンダーガーデンは義務教育ではないですよ。
４歳ぐらいまでは、親と一緒にいる時間を長くして愛情たっぷり与え、親からいろんなことを学ぶのが良いと聞いたことがあります。
集団生活は公園や友達など集まった時に学べば十分とも。
でも、ママもたまには生き抜きをしたいと思うので、年齢の低いうちは週２回午前中だけとか、短時間から通わせてはどうですか?

Kindergartenは義務ではないようですが、
公立小学校では無料ですし、普通はみんな行かせます。
えっとたしかキンダーは12月2日までに5歳になっている子どもが入学できるところですね。
プリスクールは日本の幼稚園とほぼ同じで、時間は希望や親のニーズにより選べますが、9時から12時までが基本で、あとはオプションで保育になるという感じです。
3歳から入園するのが普通だと思います。
キンダーに入学する1年前の4歳児クラスをPre Kと呼ぶものと私は理解しています。
プリスクールは基本私立で、キンダーまであるところもありますので、子どもの誕生日によっては、Pre Kをとばしてキンダーに入れるということもあります。
