I tell you this as someone who has been there. Depending on the mother, your child can become bilingual. Since I was a child, I had all my TV-related activities in Japanese and read Japanese books, etc. I never taught them English. I did not teach them any English. English is taught in the U.S., so there is no problem. I made sure that I never spoke to my children in English. I think it is the mother's effort that determines whether or not her child will become bilingual or not.

Your mother's influence is absolutely huge. I think it would be very difficult for an international married couple to learn Japanese if their mother is American.
When I watch YouTube videos of bilingual people, even if their parents are Japanese, if they grow up in the US, they prefer to use English because Japanese is difficult, so I think you have to educate them very well to learn Japanese. I will actively try to speak Japanese ！.
