８月にアメリカ本土からハワイに転勤します。
今は車を所有していませんが、ハワイではハイブリッドを購入予定です。
現在、カリフォルニア州在住で、ハワイまでの引っ越し費用は会社が払います。
この状況で、次の選択肢で悩んでいます。どなたか経験のある方、ご提案いただけると幸いです。
１）ハワイで車を購入
ハワイでディーラーがどの程度、販売台数を保持しているのかまったくわかりません。
Bay Areaでは、ディーラーの数も多く、「入荷待ち」ということもなく、また、競争も激しいので価格もかなり選べます。
２）本土で購入し、ハワイに輸送する
Bay Areaのsales taxは９％です。ハワイの約２倍です。
こちらで車を購入しても、輸送費は会社が負担します。
ハワイですぐに車がいるかと言われると、しばらくレンタカーで過ごすことになると思いますが、Car Shareがあまりないようなので、それなら車が必要かと思っています。会社の寮から勤務先までは徒歩圏内ですので、通勤に車は必要ありません。
このような状況です。なにかご意見、経験談などあれば、お聞かせください。

1)車がすぐに必要なら、到着前にハワイのディーラーと交渉したらいいと思います。（電話かEメール）私たちも東本土に移る娘の車がすぐ必要なため、オプションから車の色まで、値段はもちろん、交渉ずみです。すぐ必要でないならば、着いてからで十分だと思います。タクシーも多く、電話一本ですぐきますし、Uberもあります。
2)オークランドから６月に車をハワイまでおくる予定です。$1075かかって、２週間ごに着くそうです。ハワイで中古車を買った場合はREGISTRATION FEEのみでTAXはかからないのですが、OUT OF STATEの場合は一ヶ月以内にCHANGE REGISTRATIONとして、$800くらいかかるそうです。
