白昼、片道２時間以上かけてMetroを使ってLAXまで行ってきた。車内では何かしら食べている人、何か飲んでる人、音楽、ゲームなどで音を立てる人、歌を歌う人、靴を座席に載せる人、座席を独り占めするひと、スナック菓子を売り歩く人、物乞いする人、一人でつぶやく人、ホームレスらしき人、などなど。セキュリティーはおらず車内ではほぼ自由。幾つかの駅にはセキュリティーがいるものの、車内では自由行動。その他、Taｐしない人や、自転車持ち込みの人、色々。途中、停車中に車内の電気が消え真っ暗に。騒ぎはなく、もちろん車内放送もない。それでも、５時間以上の旅は、ACのよく効いた車内のお陰で快適だった。

夏前にサンタモニカまでメトロで行った。
終点がサンタモニカピアの少し手前で歩いて行けたので
久しぶりに半日時間つぶしで楽しめた。
