日本人です。せっかくロスにいるのでサーフィンをおしえていただきたいです！中古など安いものでいいのでボードとウェアもそろえて楽しみたいのですが、どなたか暇つぶし程度の感覚でいいのでお付き合いしてくださる方いらっしゃいませんか？

変な言い方ですみません。
サーフィンって、ルールやマナー、丘の上の基本的な事は教えれますが、なにぶん海の上では声を届けるのが難しいので、教えるほうもかなり難しいです。
教える方法が丘の上に限られるので、波の上でボードに立つという、一番肝心で一番難しいところが教えられないスポーツです。ゴルフやスキーなどと違い、プロですら教え方がまだ確立していないのです。ゴルフなどサーフィンと比べれば全然確立しています。
そこらへんは本人がコケまくって慣れるしかないので、最低1ヶ月はコケてコケてコケまくる事を覚悟してください。中には「1週間で乗れたよ」という人もいますが、たいがいは数か月かかります。自分の身長より10cmは長いボードがお勧めです。そうでないとコケすぎて飽きます。7ft超えるロングボードなら1週間もあれば乗れるかな。

ボード選びは大切です。中古で安いからと言って、自分の身長より短いボードを買ってしまうと、ボードに乗れるまで毎日海へ行っても2か月かかったりしますよ。その前にギブアップする人の方が多いですが。
