鉄道好きな私には、とてもショックな事件です。
JRパス、来年3月で、永住者でも買えなくなりました。
せめて、2020年のオリンピックまでは、一緒に行く家族（アメリカ人）と旅行するためにも、使いたかったなぁ。
何か打つ手はないのでしょうか？

詳細はまだ分かりませんが、
在住国の日本領事館等で、10年以上の海外在留証明が取れたら、
2020年まで利用することができそうです

10年以上の海外在留証明が必要なら新、旧のパスポートで確認できないのかな。

それだけのために市民権を取るような浅はかな人はいないでしょう。
しかし、取ろうか取るまいかウジウジしていた旅行好きの人は
それがきっかけで取る気になるかも知れません。
私もいずれは取るつもりでいたが日々の忙しさに追われ先延ばしに
なっていたのが、申請料金が90ドルから200何ドルに上がると
聞いて慌てて取りました。今ではそれも500ドル以上するんでしょ。
