皆様
私はこの秋からUCIのextensionに通う予定でした。
UCIからは、秋の対面授業は大丈夫ですと言われていたのですが、8/19に対面授業を諦める旨連絡をもらいました。
初日の授業が9/21だったので、ほぼ1ヶ月前。。
私のI-20とビザは無効になり、秋からの渡米はあきらめることになりました。
カリフォルニアの現在の状況を考えると判断は理解できるのですが、決断が遅すぎです。
飛行機もアパート手配済みでした。
飛行機は無料でキャンセルできたのですが、アーバインで契約していたアパートがバッチリ違約金がかかる契約書になっています。
大学側に、ある程度の保証を求めたのですが、新規の留学生に対して何も保証はなく、大学は助けない旨切り捨てられた返答を頂きました。
このコロナの時期に、UCIの甘い言葉に踊らされた私が悪いのですが、弁護士に相談したらある程度大学と交渉できると思いますか？
皆様のお知恵を貸して頂けると有難いです。
