Vivinavi Los Angelesコンピュータの買い替えを思案中、何かアドバイスありますか？

デスクトップで構わないのですが、最近広告などで400ドルくらいからありますよね、WindowsＸＰ搭載されていて。
コンピュータに詳しくないのでプロセッサーによってなにが違うとか、善し悪しとか、容量はどの程度あればよいのか、これはお勧め、止めた方が、など、ご意見お聞かせください。
現在使用しているＯＳはWindows2000（日本バージョン）です。用途はインターネット及びメール、それからデジカメで撮った写真を送ったり受けたり、また写真を既存のウェブに載せたり、フライヤーを作成したりする程度です。いつかスキャナーも入手したいと思っていますがスキャナーのお勧めなどもあれば、ご意見お聞かせください。

近々、Microsoft Windowsの最新版でWindows XPの後継となるVistaが発売予定です。もう少し待ってVista搭載のコンピュータを購入されてはいかがでしょう？

っていうことは、Ｖｉｓｔａ発売後、ＸＰ搭載のコンピュータ、安くなったりするのかな...ヘビーユーザーではないのでＸＰで充分かと。予算もあまりないので。

最近発売されているモデルは、買い控得られちゃ困るってぇんでぇ CPU を新しくして、Vista Ready と称して売ってます。ですからお急ぎなら今買っても安心です。さらに Vista が発売されてもそのようにハードウエアの方に準備ができているので、価格は安くはならないと思います。また最近のコンピュータ部品の価格動向を見てみると、LCD モニターや DVD バーナーなどは下げ止まっているどころか、私などが狙っている超格安なものが見つからなくなっています。やはり原油価格が中国にも影響しているのでしょうか。
また、新 OS が発売されても、その OS の力を十分発揮させるソフト（アプリケーション）が出揃うのは更に先になるので、あまり Vista を気にしないでもいいのではないでしょうか。
私の自宅の PC は Windows XP ですが、CPU は Pentium III 866MHz です。これでも写真の処理や音楽の編集などは何の抵抗もなく動いています。ビデオの編集となるとちょっと鈍くなりますけど、これもメモリーの量を増やせば解決するかも知れません。
