I live in Kaimuki and work in the Moili'i area.

I don't know if Topi is a woman or a man, but if she is a woman, she cannot walk alone after dark.
I used to walk my dog around my house after dark, but now there are many strange people in Kaimuki and it is dangerous.
I think Waikiki is the only place where you can walk alone at night ？

Even during the day, you should not walk while wearing earphones. There have been many incidents of people approaching from behind with mopeds and taking bags.


I have heard some news, but I have not heard of any actual incidents so I guess it is not so different from Japan.

Hawaii is a tourist destination, so only a few things make the news in Japan, but if you live here, there are always stories of coworkers being snatched while walking or having their cars stolen. If you have a job that requires you to go home at night and take the bus to work, Waikiki is a good choice.

Waikiki is also not the safest place to be since there was a shooting during the day
but with that many police, you may feel a little safer.

Even though it is Hawaii, it is America, so walking is not recommended.
It is better to travel by car. If you wear anti-theft protection, it will not be stolen.

I am a middle-aged man with a good build. But if someone hit me in the head from behind with a baseball bat, I'd probably lose a fight.
If I am ambushed on my way to work on foot, it would be the end.
In Hawaii, I'm like a low-income earner, so I'll give up the car and take a bicycle or bus.

I have never been attacked in Hawaii, but when I lived in CA
I was attacked by a gang once.

I don't feel comfortable when people are behind me, even on buses.

The quality of homeless people is not what it used to be.
There used to be homeless people who didn't do any harm, but now there are many bad ones, some of them are flirting with us, and some of them are shouting early in the morning. Perhaps the number of drug addicts is increasing.

Also, theft and assault cases are increasing, so I think that each individual should observe their surroundings and be careful.
I would like to enjoy my time in Hawaii because it is a paradise by nature, but I have to accept it because the environment has already changed in Corona.
Unfortunately.

I guess any person has to survive and live through.
