Software Fair depends on the type of license, but most software should be fine unless it was purchased a long time ago. （ including Excel ） may or may not be able to be installed on a new PC, depending on the license.

My current desktop PC is made by Lenovo and was bought about 2 years ago. Therefore, I had no hesitation in rewriting it to Win 11. The only trouble I had after updating was the Sleep function mentioned above, which required me to open an old DOS window from the Windows screen and put in the correct characters one by one, and I had to stop halfway through because if I made a mistake, something terrible would happen.

I didn't use the Sleep function in Win 10, so I disabled the Sleep function. So now this desktop is working fine as it did in Win 10. In other words, I could have left Win 10 as it was, but I feel better to replace it with a new tatami mat if it's "free".
