現在留学中で、カリフォルニアのシェアハウスに住んでいるのですが、コロナの影響で帰国することにしました。
その旨を大家さんに伝え、数日前に払った家賃の返金を求めたところ、断られてしまい、このような異常事態であるにもかかわらず、5月までの契約なのでその分の家賃は払えと言われてしまいました。
どうしたら返金してもらえるのでしょうか。

いえ、こちらこそ。
この状況下で滞在が大きなストレスや、もはや滞在の意味を見出せないなら、お金は諦めて帰国する事も悪くはないと思います。
もしくは部屋に篭り勉強に集中するのか。
小さいお金ではないかもしれませんが、精神的な安定をとって現実社会をこなす方がよい時もありますし。
ご家族とよく相談されて下さい。
変な大人にならないように、勉強頑張って下さい。

中国じゃないんですから契約書にサインしたのならそれに従うしかありません。
あとはダメもとでフレンドリーに交渉するしかありません。
