Lorenzen, the starter, did a great job too.

The reason for the Angels' stagnation is because their pitching staff always collapses.
In MLB, it's a 5 pitcher, 4 day rotation, but the Angels have a 6 pitcher, 5 day rotation to take advantage of Ohtani's dual role.
Normally, MLB pitchers are contracted to receive a bonus based on their pitch counts in addition to their annual salary, so if they join the Angels, they will not receive this bonus because of their low pitch counts.
