What is the check-in procedure for Singapore Airlines (SQ)?

ANA allows you to check in online 24 hours before boarding time. I check in this way and take the printed out QR code to the airfield.

Is it possible to do the same at SQ, I have searched the SQ site but could not find such a section.

SQ can check in 48 hours in advance. However, the Boarding Pass does not appear online and cannot be printed until 24 hours before. I printed my Boarding Pass and brought it with me, but that was just a formality, and when I checked in my luggage, I was given a new Boarding Pass again. I checked in using my phone, this time without printing it, and received a new Boarding Pass there. In short, all I had to do was check in online and say "I'm coming!

As an addendum, it might be easier if you download the app from SQ, use it to find your flight, and check in with it.

Thank you for your prompt reply. The most "difficult" part of departure is having to wait in long lines at airport counters and security checkpoints, but in my case, I only have a Carry-on size backpack when I don't bring my pilgrimage vajra, so I don't have to wait in line at the counters if I only have my boarding pass, and I can go through TSA checkpoints with very few lines since I am a TSA Pre-Check member. I am a TSA Pre-Check member, so I can get through the line almost unimpeded.

But for my gf, who also bought a cheap $495 ticket and is leaving at the end of this month, she has one checked case and will have to wait in line at the counter, so I guess she doesn't need to check in online beforehand before leaving home.


I just installed the Mobil app from SQ as it came in my email as well. I'll learn a little more about this when I get a response to my acceptance. Nowadays, everything is done with smartphones, and even on domestic flights in Japan, business travelers who are probably on business suddenly come to the boarding gate, hold up the QR code on their smartphone, and beep, beep, beep, and enter the cabin. It is just like going through an automatic ticket gate at a train station.
