Last July, I stayed at a hostel near here and walked from Kaminarimon to Sensoji Temple （ which we downtowners call "Kannon-sama" ） through Nakamise, as I do every year. It was probably the peak of the season, but it was so crowded that it was difficult to walk without bumping into each other. Also, in the past year or two, I have often heard familiar Tagalog and Vietnamese mixed in with Chinese.

However, with this viral pandemic, I still can't believe how lonely it is. I still cannot believe it. Has there ever been a Nakamise so empty since the Edo period? I can feel the horror of the corona.
