UI appointments can be booked on the web for available dates and times, and you can choose between Zoom or phone support.
You could also choose whether to have an interpreter.

You have to check the site frequently to get a reservation, as there are only pinpoint availability.
Also, when you make a reservation, there is a place to enter your name, date of birth, SSN, and what kind of case it is, so I recommend that you make your questions in advance as it is a memo function. A friend of mine was booked by someone else while he was going through this process.

Reactivate has various questions, and if you proceed, you will find a section called Reason for Separation,
in which you can change the status. You can change the status in that section.
The first question "Please select why you are reactivate your claim" I was told to select Add Employer to claim.
Then you will be asked to fill in your employer's information in the questionnaire.

I just went through the process a few days ago and I'm not sure if I can claim successfully, but I'm going to give it a few days and contact UI if needed again.

I called the call center today.
I was not told to Reactivate a claim.
Maybe it was because I told them I was going back in June on a shortened schedule.
They asked me when I last spoke to the Employer and I told them it was 2 days ago and they said
they would check with the Employer and call me back.
The call center just called back and said that the supervisor had changed it to Furlough.
One thing that will bother Employer is that I started getting UI benefits for switching to Furlough
Employer needs to submit a Low earninsgs report from last March to the present.

In my case, they changed it with UI, so I think that if you are going to change to Furlough, you should
call them before you Reactivate a claim at your own discretion.

I assume you need an ITIN to do a tax return, in which case you can attach a W-7 and they will issue you a number.

ITIN application is basically ＜ not possible ＞ alone. （ Exceptions include being a member of an LLC, etc. ） Attached to a tax return.

Dear tax man
I have a flight question.
I am sorry to bother you, but I would be grateful if you could enlighten me.
A friend of mine is working at a certain place on OPT. I understand from my limited knowledge that Medicare and SS tax are not deducted from her paycheck while she is on OPT, but when I asked her to show me her pay stubs, she was sure they were deducted. She can still get a refund since she has been there for a few months now, but they have been hiring OPTs there for 10 years now and have been deducting Medicare and SS all along. Most of the kids have already returned home and were working there without such knowledge.
Can I report such a case to the IRS and have it audited ？
I hope there is a penalty or something if possible because it is a very, very black company.

Students on CPT, OPT, STEM OPT are exempt from FICA Taxes (Social Security and Medicare Taxes).
In other words, you don't have to pay FICA taxes on your paycheck.
Some employers would deduct those taxes from your paycheck.

Since the Toyota headquarters moved from Torrance to Dallas, many families from California have moved here.
