I am going to Korea.
Currently, a tourist visa is required to enter Korea for travel purposes.
To enter Korea, you need to submit a negative test certificate at least 2 days before departure. Also, it is required to retest within 3 days of entry and report the results.
I applied at the Korean consulate in Japan for a family visitor visa, which is a different type of visa from a tourist visa, and it was approved within a week or so while I was temporarily back in Japan. The tourist visa takes a little longer (about 2 weeks). I think the waiting time from application to approval is different from the Korean Consulate in Hawaii, but just for your information.
