Vivinavi Los Angeles日本での運転免許証

アメリカで20年くらい運転をしていたのですが、このたび日本に永久帰国します。
国際免許証は1年で切れてしまいます。以前帰国した人が、いくつかの手続きを踏めば
アメリカの免許履歴を元に、日本でも免許証を発行してくれるような事を言ってたと
思うのですが、うる覚えで詳細を思い出せません。
どなたか、この事をご存知であれば教えて頂けると助かります。

私も10年以上前ですが、数年帰国した際に外免切り替えをしました。
一番確実なのはご自身がお住まいになる予定の都道府県警察のウェブサイトを見るなり、問い合わせることです。
私の場合は学科試験は原付免許取得の記録が残っていたようで免除になりましたが、技能試験は予約を取って後日受けました。週末には試験場解放があり、試験日までに車持ち込みで練習することも可能でしたよ。
ただ、パスポートの発行日だったか入国スタンプの日付けだったかと外免の更新日の関係で、運転経験が一年以上あると認められず、初心運転者になりましたけどね。

他州の運転免許はまだ書き換えできるし。
