We were lucky enough to have good pocketbooks then and bought a house. Many of our neighbors had children in the lower grades of elementary school, and many of them went to the same elementary school, so we, as newcomers, were able to get to know our neighbors easily through our children.

Other parents also felt safe because their children were playing in their neighbors' yards and on nearby streets.

I still live in a quiet residential neighborhood off a busy main street with heavy car traffic, and I'm sure there is one in several homes with elementary school children, but I don't see kids playing outside in the street. Have times changed a lot, or are the kids also playing on the internet inside the house?

Yes, if your children can play online, let them play with their friends from the same school through the Internet. You will have to monitor the content from time to time, though. In addition, you could let them go to the friend's house or ask them to come over.

As I write this, I realize that times have changed dramatically. My granddaughter is now going to UC San Bernardino, which is over 2 hours away by car or train; UCLA was too difficult and Community College, which is in a walkable city, was too low.

Nice to meet you ^^
I know it's hard to know how to spend every school vacation.
We also have a 1st grader, and like the Lord, my husband is working so it's just the two of us. I've already decided that I'm not going to spend time with my child and I'm just going to be lazy everyday lol My child is usually busy with school, so I thought it would be nice to have a change of pace once in a while.
We often watch movies together or draw pictures. After that, we have picnics at the park, hang out at the mall, etc.
Lately she seems to be interested in baking sweets, so I'm thinking of making a cake or something for this spring vacation.

I always thought I had to take them somewhere, but it is true that there are things we can do together at home. ！ I would like to try making a cake with them because they have been wanting to make a cake too.

As for picnics, I forgot that we used to make lunch boxes and eat them in the back yard when we had the Corona Disaster, which was a picnic of sorts. It was nice to be able to enjoy a different day in a nearby park and do something we don't always do like that ！ Thank you 😊.

Sim Card ＆ E I don't know much about Simi cards, but in our case, we have three iPhones （ that we usually use in the US. I use LINE installed on my iPhones ） when I go back to Japan by connecting to free public Wifi or Wifi at the hotel or other places where I stay. Also, when my kids went to Japan last year with some friends, they rented a pocket Wifi at the airport （ for about 300 yen per day ？ ） and used it when they needed to connect to it during their stay. Unfortunately, I can't give you advice on that since it was a long time ago when I tried to swap Sim cards like Phone did, but I hope others can give you some good advice.

I think E sim is the easiest.　If you are not confident about setting it up yourself, there are counters at the airport where you can have it installed.

Thanks for your kind share! Thank you very much for your kind share. I used to use my phone in the same way without any problem, but when I came back to Japan 2 years ago, I bought a Japanese Sim card with a Japanese phone number on it, so I would like to use it if possible.
I'm not sure if the same account can be used on two iPhones, even if the iPhone is set to Airplane mode and the LINE app is used in the U.S. The world has become too convenient for my brain to keep up.

I have the same account on my ipad, and I am also using the same account on my Galaxy tablet. However, when I logged on to my Galaxy tablet the other day with the account I use on my iPhone, the line on my iPhone stopped connecting to my account on my iPhone, saying that it had been transferred to another device and was no longer available. I had a similar experience when I donated blood two or so years ago, and I still have some numbness in my arm.

The person taking the blood at that time forced the needle in very hard and it hurt a lot. And I think it took longer than usual.
I remember feeling numbness after a few days, but I waited, thinking it would go away. But in the end, it has not healed.
Now there is no way to prove it, so I have no choice, but if I could have, I would have checked with the person in charge and verified the facts.
