ちょっとモヤモヤしている事があるので質問させて下さい。
来月親戚(アメリカ人夫婦)の子供の誕生日会に招待されたのですが、先月私達の子供が誕生日の時にはその方達からはお祝いの言葉もカードも何もありませんでした。招待状にはギフトアイデアがしっかりと記載されていて、プレゼントの催促をされているようであまり良い気分ではありませんでした。しかしこれがアメリカ流なんでしょうか? なんだかせっかくホリデーシーズンを乗り越えて来たのに身内同士の付き合いに疲れてきてしまいました。

お宅の子の時もパーティをして招待状も送ったのに
カード1枚なかったということですか?
それとも、親戚なのでお宅の子の誕生日は知っていて
当然、パーティ等なくてもお祝いの一言やカードくらい
はあるべきと思っているのでしょうか?

だったら、目的がわからなくて
オープンハウスパーティに来ただけ?
それとも一応、お宅の子の誕生日っていうのは
判っていたの?
どっちにしても、親戚の子の招待状には出席か欠席か
知らせなきゃなんないんでしょうから、欠席にすれば
いいじゃん。
理由なんてどうにでもつけられるでしょ。
