I was looking for a trainer years ago, so that would be my knowledge, but I heard that training at home, where they spend the most time, is better, because outside they are smart and listen to the trainer, but when they return home, their behavior reverts back to normal. I think it makes more sense to practice at home, like not going to this room or not fussing at the doorbell. Others have said that the owner needs to be trained to be the leader, rather than the doggie. Like not changing the rules all the time.

Also, I've heard that PetSmart is good for dogs that are obedient to begin with, but they are given treats to make them do what they are told, and later on, when they realize they won't get treats, they stop obeying.

Maybe you could ask someone at a nearby dog park for a recommendation.

We have a male toy pooch. I have given up on the potty. I mean, even after educating him, he can do anything where people are not looking. I put training paper on the wall in places where he might do small. The only thing that helps me is that he does the large one on the balcony 95% of the time. When he barks unexpectedly, I shake a shopping bag with about 8 empty cans crushed in the center by hand to quiet him down. Pet smart,Petco and pet store training classes are not recommended. I've seen them hold him down. It seems amateurish. The vet's level is the same as well.
You can fix what you are being told now, either at home or when you take him there. Do you want them to go outside to potty ？ because some owners make them do it with a potty seat. It takes time, patience and consistency from the owner. Even if you are taught how to do it, you have to be there for them and teach them to be patient. Dogs will pee when you're not looking.

Toileting is done in a certain place. Take him to the place where he does it when he is patient.

Or make sure you are with a lot of people. If you have flashy jewelry, take it off late at night and put it in your bag. This is because it can attract attention. Do not react or look them in the eye if they look scared, screaming, or unwell. And watch out for different areas. I use the bus more often than the subway. If you come to Manhattan.
