ご存知の方も多いかと思いますが、私はこういうイベントがあることを知らなかったのでトピを立てておきます。
チノ航空記念館主催で、世界で唯一現役飛行が可能な零戦のデモ飛行が１２月３日に行われます。
１２時半予定 （約２時間の飛行見物）
If you have nothing to do in your life, 皆様も死ぬ前に一度ご覧になってはいかがでしょうか。
私は友人と一緒に行きますので、もし車がない方はSouth Bayまで朝１０時迄に来られるなら乗せていってあげます。希望があればメールにてご連絡ください。
本来こういった書き込みは”仲間探し”のようなところでやるものでしょうが、あちらはどうも出会い系要素が強いようなのでこちらに書き込みました。
パールハーバー記念行事：アメリカの愛国主義的イベントなのですが、７５年前の飛行機を修繕・整備してくださっている方に感謝です

#13 は私・倍金萬です。(^_^;A
1970年に駐在員で NY に渡りましたが、当時の現地法人の
アメリカ人副社長が第二次世界大戦では B29 の Gunner で
本土空爆に参加していたそうです。
ですので、Gunner をやっていたこと以上のことは話したがりませんでした。
B29 と言えば、Van Nuys Airport の脇にある空の Motel、Airtel Plaza の
向かいで一時ビジネスをしていましたが、Airtel の前と横は駐車場ですが、
裏は滑走路に面していて実際に駐機場になっていました。
その駐機場に数週間 Restore された B29 が留められていました。
Chino Airport で B52 を傍で見たし、4発機なので旅客機ほどの
大きさを想像していましたが、意外と小さかった記憶があります。
それと、6年ぐらい前だったかな、第二次世界大戦中イギリスから
ナチスドイツに空爆に出た爆撃機 B17 が Burbank Airport に
飛来し、2～300ドルと非常に高かったそうですが、試乗飛行を
したそうです。たまたまバレーの北側の山にハイキングで登っている
ときに飛んでいたので、優雅な飛行を見ることができました。
B17 は機内の Air Pressure がない時代で、ある程度以上の
高高度では飛べず、それ故、冬など機内はメチャクチャ寒かったそうです。

この時期はニュースで日本の真珠湾攻撃(12/8)を聞くたびに嫌な気持ちになりますね。 確かに日本は悪いことをしたと思うけど。
B52 怖かった。 ヴェトナム戦争でB52が沖縄から飛行する時、授業はいつも30分
中止。 校舎がガタガタと揺れて私も机にしがみついて震えていた。 1日に数回もあった。
今はシリヤ、中東か。戦争って無くならないのかな。

そうですか、Bombardier の席そんなにするときもあるんですね。でも好きな人は
一生に一度なので安い物なんでしょうね。
2013年とあるので3年前でしたか、私が B17 を見れたのも。
私と歳が近いだろう白人のおっさんが私を追い越しハイキング道を
せっせと上がっていきましたが、頂上に着くと彼はB17をしみじみと眺めていました。
Chino の Air Show については、どなたかのご報告をお待ちしています。
