DELL のノートブックをアメリカで買った場合、あとで、日本語のWINDOWSのOSを入れることは可能でしょうか？
どなたかご存知の方教えてください。

まずパソコン本体は
英語用も日本語用もありません
キーボード以外は同じです
もともとPCはアメリカのIBMの規格からきています
アメリカで購入したPCに日本語OSを入れる場合は
まず別途日本語OS WINDOWS XP （J）を購入しなければいけません
その日本語OSをCD1-ROMに入れて
CD-ROMから起動させればあとは
指示通りでインストール完了です
ドライバーは別途 オリジナルのDELLの方から探して追加しないといけませんが
そんなことするよりも ZZzzさんの言うように日本語化したほうが正解ですね

可能です。私も今まさに、そうやって日本語WINDOWSを入れたノートで書き込みを行っています。
#2さんの言うように、そのまま日本語化して使ってもいいのですが、1部日本語ソフトで文字化けの可能性があるということで、私は日本語のOSをぶち込みました。
ただし既にインストールされているハードウェアのドライバ関係はすべて初期化されてしまうので、OSのインストール後に、DELLのウェブサイトからダウンロードする必要があります。

松っちゃんに聞いてください。 うそです。 ただ日本語のOSをいれるだけですよ。 ただインターネットドライバ等等はまた製品会社からDLしなきゃいけませんがね。 それはDellならDellのホームページに行けば無料でDLできます。 OSインストールしてからドライバが全て有効化されていれば完了です。

OS のインストールは慣れない人には至難の業です。特にノートブックは BIOS のあたりからその会社独特のファームウエアと操作が入り込んでいるので、100% 成功するのは無理かも知れません。
皆さんがおっしゃるように英語 OS のまま日本語化する方が安全で経済的です。どうしても日本語 OS が必要なら、こちらで買わず日本のオンラインショップでオーダーし、その友人宛に送ってもらってはいかがでしょう。
