Hello,

Los Angeles is multi-ethnic society, and different people from all over the world getting together, and trying to live in harmony. However, when you get to work, there is obvious difference of talent and salary based upon ethnicity within company or school. For instance, there are many Mexican or Black people working very hard physical job with low wage, while many Asian or white people are often getting better job with good salary.

Unfortunately, I hear many young Japanese people studying English at ESL level, make all kinds of comments against people of different race using Japanese language. They call Mexicans are like cockroach, or Blacks are lazy, and so on. I happen to have many black and Mexican friends, and I feel so bad when same Japanese people call them like that. If American people say such things in English, they will be sent to jail for such comments, and many Japanese young people don’t seem to care about it.

I feel this is kind of very dangerous situation for Japanese community in LA, and have to do something about it. Is it ok to tolerate this kind of comments or language just because we are in Japanese language community? Many great Japanese and Japanese American people are working so hard to make better society in LA, and only a few of very naive ignorant Japanese students are destroying entire images of Japanese people. How do you feel about living in melting pot society? How do you treat people of different color and culture? Thanks.

Dude, Dreamer -
First of all society has been screwed up for quite a long time . . .
And what does your topic have to do with the opening phrase . . . *When in Rome do as Romans do*
Yea so what, everyone in this world has there negative aspects think about it, you yourself probably judge people daily without realizing it. People in general (not all but mostly), diss other people, race, ethnicity (it's a psychological thing, and it occurs because of society). . . so what are you trying to prove? that japanese people are judgemental, we are racist towards other ethnicity???? dude, your judging that every japanese person with your statement . . . your saying because of what some other japanese people said of other ethnicity, it isn't cool, stop it . . .how can you stop people from dissing others when they themselves are dissing them and their own culture . . . not everyone disses other ethnicity, not everyone has an enjoyable standard awesome jobs, we aren't all made to be equal, with equal oppurtunities . . . o.k. not every one goes and diss others, there are people who respects others if they deserve it then there are people who don't . . .

日本語の場合、米語よりもブリティシュに近いのでmay i , could you , shall we , might you , をパブリックでは使うのが主流です。
