12月のはじめに知り合いが日本から来ておもちゃ屋さんで買い物をしたいらしいのですが、そのお店に入るのにseller's permitが必要なようです。
取得自体は70ドルほどでできるので取っても良いかなとは思ったのですが自分でビジネスをしてるわけでもなく、ただそのおもちゃ屋に入るために取ろうと思ってるのですが可能なのでしょうか？
初歩的な質問かと思いますがご教授願えたら嬉しいです。どうぞよろしくお願いします。

これはビジネス法律の一部です。多分その店はホールセールで商売してるため、税金上・会計上あなたの取引先、売却先の情報が必要となります。しかしこれは、交渉次第でなんとかなるはずです。頑張ってください。

CA州の Seller's Permit に関しては以下のサイトに詳しい情報が載っています。

あいにくこのサイトの Temporary Seller's Permits 部分のリンクが切れていて詳しいことが探れません。どちらにしても Temporary にせよ Sales Tax を逃れるには自分サイドの方もしっかりしたビジネスを開こうとするかやっていなければならず、それらの情報も申請の際必要です。最低でも個人のものでもいいのですが、Social Security Number とかアパートなどの個人宅でも構いませんが開いているビジネス住所の証明としてガス電気水道の請求書のコピーとか。
もし BOE が証明書も含めた申請を受理しても Permit 発効までは時間がかかりますよ。

基本、物を仕入れる場合はテンポラリーは出ないでしょ。
まず、会社の登録
その後Seller's permitの申請
で、消費税抜きで買い物が出来るようになる。つまり
あなたの名前でおもちゃを消費税無しで仕入れて友人に消費税をかけて売る。（＊輸出の場合は免除だが証拠を残す必要あり）という、形になる。
3カ月に一度、または1年に1度、California Department of Tax and Fee Administrationに
友達に売った価格に対しての徴取した消費税の支払い、
税務署へおもちゃを仕入れて、売った利益の申告。という流れの収入の申告が必要になる。
専業主婦や学生じゃ無理
BOEっていつの頃の話だよ。＃３のおっさんの話はいつも古くて大抵うそ。だから信じちゃった人を間違った方向に誘導する。
＃２，３は頑張れば出来そうな話をしてるけど
普通に考えて、簡単にパーミットが所得出来たら誰でも消費税抜きで買い物出来るようになる。ありえんでしょ
