Vivinavi Los Angeles学生ビザに切り替え

駐在員の妻ですが、独身時代は語学学校に勤めていたこともあり、主人の帰任後は学生ビザを取得してコミカレで学位を取りたいと思います。EビザからFビザへの変更は帰国しなくても可能でしょうか。弁護士さんに伺ったところ保証なしで手続費用が2000ドルということでしたが、これは普通ですか。

学校に行くのに今のビザでは行けませんの。
別に働くのじゃないのだからわざわざ学生ビザに切替えなくても
学校くらい簡単に行けると思いますが。
行く学校に学生ビザが必要か問い合わせてみればいかがですか。

駐在妻は旦那のビザが切れたら（帰国したら）自分のビザも
無効になるの。だから、残るには学生ビザを申請しなきゃ
いけないの。

帰国しなくても米国内でステータスの変更は可能です。
弁護士費用はともかく、ステータスの変更ですので、仮にEからFに変更できたとして、就学中に国外渡航（日本に一時帰国など）すると、その時点でFのステータスは終了となり、再度日本で学生ビザを申請しなければなりません。
（もちろんカナダ・メキシコの同様です）
ステータスチェンジは、国内でFビザが取れたわけではありません。
経費のことはもちろんですが、そういったことも含めて、国内でのステータス変更を考えたほうがいいです。

アメリカ国内でのステータス変更は一時帰国すると再び日本で学生ビザを申請しなければならないとは知りませんでした。主婦ですので、帰らないわけにはいかないし…。複雑です。

ご主人やご家族が日本にいて、ご自身だけがコミカレで学生ビザを取って渡米するならば、日本でF-1ビザは取れると思います。
身内が日本に帰属しており、学業終了後は、速やかの日本に戻るとすれば大丈夫だと思いますよ。
