先月に某携帯ショップで契約したんですが、ｃｉｎｇｕｌａｒさんのほうから以下のメールが届きました。

Thank you for your recent application for wireless service. Based on your credit, we have required a deposit or advance payment before extending service to you. We received information from the agency listed, but that agency did not make the deposit decision and will not be able to explain why we require a deposit.

住所が書かれてます。

You may obtain a free copy of your credit report by contacting the agency listed above within sixty (60) days from receipt of this notice. You have the right to dispute with the agency the accuracy or completeness of any of the information in your credit report.

で、とりあえず某携帯ショップにこの手紙のことを言ったら、「無視してけっこうですよ。」って言われました。え、そうなんですかって言ったら、「（５００＄の）デポジットに異議があれば申し立ててって手紙に書いてますよね？　しかもあなた契約書にサインしたでしょ？」と力説されました…。
Ｄｅｐｏｓｉｔは一年後に返ってくると言われたので、少し安心しましたが、はたしてこのまま無視していいのでしょうか？
アドバイスお願いします。

私はsprintから同じ様な手紙が届きました。少し不安だったのですが、安心しました。
ちなみにｃｉｎｇｕｌａｒはdeposit$500なんですね。T-mobileでもそういわれて、とても払えないと思っていたら、sprintでは$125で契約してもらえました。

ここ数日忙しくしていましたので返事遅れてしまいましてどうもすいませんでした
ご質問の件ですが基本的にはSSカードと写真付IDを持っていきクレジットヒストリーをNextel Shopで確認してもらえばよいです。
ただしすぐに戻してくれずおそらく支払に充当することすすめられると思いますが返金をして欲しい旨を伝えれば問題ないと思います。
ちなみにVerizonは大丈夫でした。

余談ですが、取られたＤｅｐｏｓｉｔにはちゃんと利子をつけて返してくれるので１年後はちょっと増えてますよ。

超余談ですが6年前のCingular（当時はPacbell）はDepositに＄1000取りましたよ。同じ時期のSprintは＄240でした。Depositもちょっとは安くなったみたいですね。
