They usually have roofs so you don't get wet if it rains, like at a bus stop in the city.

On rainy days the inside of the car is wet with wet umbrellas, wet people, and wet suitcases. I didn't think they had a roof over the whole airport ？.

It's LAX, I know it's JAL so it's the Tom Bradley terminal, but there's a separate exit for connecting passengers. If you exit there, （ precisely just before you leave, ） you can check your luggage onto your connecting flight. So you can be light before leaving the terminal.
Maybe the JAL staff in Japan didn't explain it well enough ？.

You're talking about Japanese airports. LAX has a roof over the exit on the first floor even if you go out.

Sorry, I did not get soaking wet. It was just that on a day when it was raining heavily, I was traveling by bus through the airport alone with two large suitcases and a hand luggage backpack on my back. I don't remember the details, but I got wet either getting on or getting off. I think it would have been enough time to get wet if it had not been raining heavily, but it was raining hard and I got wet from the umbrella that the person next to me was holding.
When connecting to a domestic flight, I was really angry and tired because I bought a ticket after checking with JAL customer service that my checked baggage would be kept as it was once I left customs. Since then, I have been flying with ANA. Since then, every time I'm anxious and call to check what will happen to my checked baggage when I make a connection, I have a smooth flight home. The problem was not that I got a little wet from the rain, but that I had to take a bus to the terminal and carry my checked luggage, even though I had checked it, and the situation was even worse because of the heavy rain. I have not complained, nor do I consider myself a complainer.
