こんにちわ。
以前、日系スーパーでお米（あきたこまち）を買ってみました。
でも、よくみるとなんとなく日本のあきたこまちよりも粒が丸く小さめ?な気がして、気のせいかな?
と炊き上がりを見てみると、すごくモチモチしすぎていてなんだかあまりおいしくありませんでした。
他の日本ブランドのお米も見てみましたが、どれも米粒が日本のお米より丸く小さめに感じます。
あまりモチモチしすぎていない、日本で食べるお米に近いものだとどれがお勧めでしょうか?
（すこし硬めに炊いてお米の粒が立つようなお米が食べたいです・・・・）

オレにはカリフォルニア米は結構美味しく感じるんだけどなぁ。
まず、モチモチしすぎていないご飯のほうが好みであれば、
アキタコマチやコシヒカリよりも、ササニシキの方が良いのだろうけど。
あと、炊飯器については、
懐の許す限り、最新の日本メーカーのものを使うことをオススメするね。
例え$300でも、5年使えば1日20セントくらいだし(笑)
ちょっと前のモデルとか、外国製のとは比較にならないほどの差がある。
また、お米を炊く際には、1合・2合という少量よりも、4～5合ずつ炊いた方が美味しく炊けると思う。冷凍保存できるし。
さらに、米を炊くとき、スーパーで売ってる水(蒸留水等)を使うとあまり美味しくないよ。
地域によってはオススメできんが、
水道水で炊いた方がなぜか美味しいんよ＾＾；
ミネラルのせいかと思ったけど、エビアン(硬すぎるｗ)やアローヘッド(軟らかい)よりも水道水の方が旨いのだ。。。
洗った後すぐに炊くのではなく、吸水の時間をとってから炊くと良いよ。夏場30分、冬場1～2時間位。
これをしないと、冷めてから一気にまずくなるんで。
水っぽいご飯を避けるには、
・炊きあがったあとの蒸らし時間を長くとりすぎないこと
・蒸らし終わった後なるべく早い時点で、
全体をシャモジでほぐして表面の余分な水分を飛ばすこと
を試してみてね。

ササニシキ系の米だと「夢」なのかな。他にもあるのかもだけどよく知らんの。
オレはもっちりした米が好きだからコシヒカリ系の米買うもん。
