Compared to the nursing homes here, the Japanese ones are still cheap. By the way, when your mother passed away, were you in Japan or in the U.S.? I would appreciate it if you could tell me what happened then. Where did you receive the notice, how did you do the funeral, etc.?

I was over here when my mother died. The funeral seemed to be a simple affair with only sutra chanting and my family.
I only went to settle things a little after the funeral. Her father died about 3 years ago.
Even though he was in a home, he still needed some help with changing clothes, but his brother （ uncle ・ aunt ） took care of him.

She is in a very expensive nursing home, and she is deaf and cannot make phone calls well. I know you all have different experiences, but it would be helpful to hear your stories.

When you were young, you had many events: graduation, marriage, employment, birth of a child, etc.
In my 60s, birth of grandchildren, retirement, start of pension, start of Medicare, caring for my parents ・ Funeral, I guess, now that everyone is done ？

Now all I have to do is care for myself and the funeral （ lol ）

Oh by the way, Light House was a special feature on housing after returning to Japan.
Well, it's interesting that they want advertising fees, so they mainly focus on such paid facilities and don't have any normal houses to buy and live in.
