One point I just remembered that you should be careful when you Wire using Citibank, because the Dollar ／ Yen rate is quite bad when you Wire from Citibank to Japan. I opened a dollar deposit account with Mitsubishi UFJ （ on the Japan side ） and sent the money in dollars, not Japanese yen. Also, as you probably know, both the IRS and the Japanese tax office will report any Wire over $10,000, so it is essential that you keep documentation to show the use of the money in case of an investigation.
