最近引っ越しをしたので免許証の住所変更をDMVのWebpageからしようと思っています。しかしながら、Frequently Asked Questionsを見ると下記のようにあります。
13.Will DMV send me a new driver license, identification card, or registration card?
No. New documents are not issued when you change your address
これは次回の更新まで旧住所のままの免許証を持ち続けなければいけないということなのでしょうか?例えば、不在で郵便物を受け取れなかった時などに不在連絡票とIDを持ってPost Officeに取りに行くと思うんですけど、郵便物の住所と免許証（旧住所）の住所が違っても問題ないのでしょうか?
皆さんどうされているのかおしえてください。

いつもAAAのオフィスで住所変更していますが、その際に免許証と同じ大きさの薄茶色い用紙をくれて、それに新しい住所を書いて免許証と一緒に持ち歩きます。

住所変更の際免許証は発行されません。免許証の住所は現在のものでなくても全く問題ありません。郵便局の他、公共機関でもどこでも、免許証をＩＤとして使う際、証明しているのは住所ではなく本人であるかということです。住所が必要な場合には、免許証は今の住所は違いますということを口頭で伝えるだけで大丈夫です。
