I am not sure about the traffic situation, so if you are new to the bus terminal, don't know where to get on the bus, and don't know which bus to take, buses are a hurdle for you. The most reliable way is by limousine. They will come to your home and take you through the express lanes. It would cost a few hundred dollars, but I don't know if Mr. Rides thinks that's expensive or not. If you want to go cheap, there are buses. I used it once to go to the consulate and it is pretty reliable.
In terms of certainty,

Who would recommend a limo to go to a volunteer jury, the kind of person your friends don't take seriously, who doesn't think about the traffic jams downtown, who doesn't know when the jurors will be back, who doesn't know when they'll be back, who posts a bunch of posts when they have no idea what they're talking about, and who would rather tell you how to catch a bus that runs on time than recommend a limo? The J Line 910 or 950 runs on the freeway, so it is faster, and the bus fare is very inexpensive for seniors over 62 years old.
There is ample parking on the north side of the bus terminal (Harbor Gateway Transit Center), so you can park your car there. If you take the train to El Monte before 6:30 a.m., you will be on time.
If you want to go to Federal Court at 1st and Hill, get off the bus and walk north on 1st across the street, then walk north for 20-30 seconds and you will see a building with stairs on the left.

I used to commute by bus to avoid car traffic to downtown in the past, but the bus is surprisingly easy. If you're coming from Torrence, you can take the Torrence Line 4x, which is a Metro 910 ＆ 950 （ I used to use myself ） it's much more empty and a bit cleaner on the bus.

Torrance bus4X is indeed empty and clean, but only in the morning and evening, and only once an hour.
After Covid, there is a shortage of drivers, and you may have to wait up to 2 hours for more cancelled flights, so if you have to be on time, J Line 910 or 950 are by far the most frequent.
